You have to do what you have to do in sticky situations. I have done all kinds of stuff to get home. I have done that battery cable trick with vise grips. Duct tape around a radiator hose. One time out four wheeling out in the woods/mud I threw the fan belt over revving the engine. Could not find the belt. Luckily, 2 young ladies were with us in skirts. I used one of the girls panty hose tied together to make a belt to get us home. Also, broke a u joint wheeling. I used the packaging tape with nylon strands wrapped around the yoke a hundred times or more. It held, got us home and me to work the next day until I could stop on my way home to buy a new u joint. And, several others that I am famous for....
