I've run East Coast Auto Electric ones for years and the only one that failed was in a fire. Thye rebuilt it and got it back to my quickly. I currently have this one on my truck.. BUt I use a low mount Doty kit to mount it. On my 64 with the B1 it is also with a low mount kit. They sell 12 and 16v versions since its a race car I have a 16V https://www.eastcoastalternator.com/product/16v-160-amp-one-wire-alternator-powder-coated/

Another solution would be to run a front drive mandrel so you can do just about anything you want for pulley arrangement and offset.
