The Dart was super modified and had to run in unlimited, but it had a stick shift small block running 9.20's in it....Was my favorite that year. The sound and performance were awesome.

A BBM engine will probably be cheaper to build, but you'd probably have to go with Predator head to have any chance of making decent power.

Big inch P7 headed engine is going to take a Ritter XR2 block or a EEI block. I don't believe that EEI are making the blocks anymore, although there was one for sale in one of the Facebook groups.

One of the tricks in getting them to live, is the rocker change for the long drive. Many people will swap out the rockers for sets with a 1.2-1.3:1 ratio

R5P7 was a 69 Dart from Sweden wasnt it? Old school paint. Red and white I think. I remember it being a three pedal car.

My 2¢, build a very large mild motor, if you use a roller cam ask for gentle ramps that don't beat the valve train to death.

My Cuda was/is built for Drag and Drive, I went the big cubes route with a 605 Hemi...The first couple of iterations, had oiling issues. Ate a couple of rod bearings on the first one, went to a bigger pan. Second one was eating valve springs on long drives, built spray bars & 3qrt accumulator to keep those happy along with a milder cam with milder ramps. I am on my third Hemi iteration, but this one is untested, but feels real healthy. Need to re-wire the car, and add some cage and its going to be a perfect car for drag and drive events with mild 3.73 gear and big tires that I can swap to 315 drag radial for racing which is 2" shorter than the road tires, and will help the gear ratio out. I keep having wiring issues, and its time to fix the 50 year old mess.

Tabscott is no different in the Small Block class, with 1" lift, and a 6500 convertor. Kurt Anderson with the BBC Fox body Mustang was no different. He had the field covered by one second, in 2016, and that wasn't good enough for him...
