The Great White North
Building a 411 ci G3 for myself over the winter. Will be using new Apache heads/6.2L Block (4.125" bore)/11.7-11.8 comp, offset ground 6.4L crank 3.85" stroke, DragPack intake, 950 Dom, MSD HEMI.

I know FRP has some decent looking grinds but short of full custom, does anyone have any experience of a "go to " stick that makes great power and is obviously more on the hairy/racy oldschool side? This engine will never see EFI. J.Rob

Cam Motion
GRIND# XA227/375-XA235/375-13.5+3 It's 227/235 @ .050 .618/.618 lift. Works well with a carb, but it's not the End all of be all cams.

Summit 5719 is one of the biggest off the shelf cams out there for the G3, 232/248 @ .050 .625/.625 Lift. with stock BGE/Apache heads it fall off like a rock @ 7400 RPMs
Summit 5744 Same lift as 5719 but dur @ .050 251/257 , will pull to 8000k rpms if you let it.
Comp
201-305-17 , 224/234 @ .050 .632/.619 , very street able cam , makes great NA carb power with stock size ex valve and 2.18 Intake valve. despite Dur @ 50 being under 240 , it loves 7k+ rpms , give it a Holley Hi-Ram and a pair of 750's and it'll go 1.6-1.7 Hp/CI with 380+cfm,
201-306-17 , 228/236 @ .050 .632/.609 , this cam LOVES EFI , so so with a carb makes about the same power as the 305 cam with a carb.
201-426-17 , 222/230 @ .050 .615/.609 it's another one more suited to EFI , great cam for the heavier vehicle. probably the best low end grunt cam of the bunch listed.
201-428-17 infamous "274" 226/234 @ .050 .619/.612 , power is equal to Cam motions Titan 2(listed above) , better low end tq.
A custom grind that has MADE 790-810Hp with 431 CI (4.10 X 4.08) with AFR Big bear heads Holly Hi-ram and a pair of 950CFM Cabs on 100oct , 260/260 @.050,.640/.640 110LSA advance 4deg , 106 CL , intake open at 24 BTDC ,closes 56 ABDC EX opens at 64 BBdc and closes 16 ATDC. 4000LBS Ram With sheet metal top with a Kenn Bell 128mm TB went a best of 10.05@ 132mph, same engine with the Hi Ram and Carbs went 9.20s in a 3200 lbs dart..
