What the heck. They were cheap. That's the main thing.

Those are for the reverse flow marine motors that run backwards. Also used in some other applications whistling🤣🙄

Bingo!

Hey, they got it half right. That's not too bad. It's for a manifold. Figure it out.

I'm beginning to sour a little on Rock Auto. Yes I know that they have a disclaimer about the images of the items may only be a sample and NOT what you may get so why not blur or photoshop out the country of origin. Ordered a part for my '95 E320 and it was labeled Made in Germany and was the brand that was the trusted and OEM brand that forums said to only use. Part came in Made in China and a non-recognizable manufacture. It was an over $100 item and got returned. How about a little honesty as I would have either ordered another brand listed or not at all and saved everyone wasted time. My rant for today wink grin

I have never had them not ship exactly what I ordered. Been a few months since my last order, I wonder if this is a new thing?

I'm not bashing Rock Auto, they shipped what the package has it labeled as. Ultra Power is the culprit that has these labeled wrong. It wasn't just one package, they sent 3 labeled wrong.

That's a classic.

It's not helpful in the least, but at least they knew it was some kind of a gasket, for some kind of an engine.

The one where I got some Holley squirter nozzles labelled as connecting rod bearings was probably the worst one I ever saw.

I have a story or 97 about packaging errors at places I used to work.

Don't ever order A body door dimmer switches from them. Went round and round with them when they sent me B Body ones. Even sent them pics showing the obvious differences, parts jockeys tried to tell me my car wasn't original. They go strictly by what the description says. Seems the manufacturer is trying to pass B body switches as A body ones.

I suspect any regular parts store is going to sell the same thing, right or wrong. They don't know what is correct, they only know what the parts listing tells them and if you disagree, well that's not their issue.

I recently bought a new timing chain set for the flat head in my 51 Plymouth. If you go to rockauto, or any other parts supply place, there is no listing given. If you look in the factory parts books, well from 33 till 56 is it the same set for any Mopar flathead siz in a pass car. Rockauto, and others, show a listing for a 1951 Chrysler (only), go to the manufacturer's website, look up the part and they list it correctly as per the factory parts book. Let the manufacturer know about it, they were aware of it but don;t seem to have a way to resole that.

Now I do not know where RA, or the others, buy their part number databases from, but that;'s where the issue lies, in this case.

You can't fix the problem if you don't get to the causative issue.

I ordered two replacement tires for my lawn mower off Amazon. A few days go by and i see two boxes on my doorstep when i got home from work. confused I opened one box and there where the two tires. Seems somebody screwed up and sent me double my order! penguin I had to check and see they didn't double bill me and they didn't. Anybody need two lawn mower tires cheap? I know this rarely ever happens but occasionally you get more then what you where expecting. boogie

Databases can certainly have flaws & erroneous info and/or applications - I run into that all the time as well.
And being at the other end of a phone or computer seems to make the selling company's rep dig in their heels.
By the same token, anyone who's worked a parts counter has suffered idiot customers, so the reps won't believe everything they hear.

I've pretty much taken on explaining or describing parts & such to the young guys at the local AutoZone, and they seem pretty receptive.
Maybe they're just being polite, though, and laugh at me after I leave laugh2

i do get a chuckle out of the guy/kid behind the counter that asks what you are working on, then says : "sorry, but that isn't in the computer, so i don't think that will work, and i can't sell it to you........".................... laugh2
