You would have to look at the '70 B-body wiring as the '68 B-bodies lose the front "running or parking" lights when the headlights (and side marker lights) are on.

Probably a good spot for LEDs if one wanted them to light up.

Dunno if this could be a good option? If some room available between lense and housing.

I like this COB stripe design so no square spots around.. warm white.

'68 B-bodies have just the illuminated small round side marker lights and with just the parking lights on the parking lights stay on. But when you turn on the headlights (low or high) the front (in the bumper) parking lights go off. '69 B-bodies went to side marker reflectors (no light bulbs) and the front parking lights are on regardless of the headlights being on. '70 B-bodies went to side marker reflectors with a center of the reflector lighted bulb and they stayed on with or without the headlights on or off. I don't know the size of the '70 side marker reflectors with the center marker light bulbs but you may be able to modify them to fit or cut new marker "holes" to fit the '70's in place of the '69 reflector only to get a center bulb reflector as you would like??

i have often wondered if the 70 lens would fit the 69 reflector housing.
can someone out there with a 70 get a measurement for me please ? i have looked at various catalogs, but have not seen anything that i thought i might be able to use. modifying something that would be close is not a problem.
led's will certainly be used, and wiring them will be no problem for me. i also have a wiring diagram that shows how to wire up the single filament bulb to also act as a turn signal as well as still being a side marker.
thanks for the suggestions guys ! up

The '70/'71 marker lens sure look close to the '69's IMO. Doesn't look like it would take much to fit the entire assembly or mod the lens to fit the '69.

70 lights are bigger than the 69 stuff. Unless you want to do paint work there's not much you can do to get them to fit.

I've kicked around the idea of using 70s 80s markers to get a socket onto the backside of the 69 housings. Cut a hole in the housing behind the reflector and use a cut up late model housing to hold the bulb. The mounting studs on the 69 housing can be used to attach the late model socket.

Shouldn't be to difficult to do, I would only caution on the distance of the bulb from the lens. But LED's would solve that wink

Led would be the way to go but I think clearance to the lenses would be about the same as the late model markers.

Jus an idea floated on.

If there is no room for the strip, maybe just making a groove on housing for it

that's kind of the way i was considering going. so if i could get a measurement on that particular lens, i could then decide if i can make it fit.
wiring will not be an issue, and i will be using LED bulbs.
so, if anyone out there could measure their 70/71 lens, i would GREATLY appreciate it !!! bow

I haven't had a '70 B for many years, but I seem to recall their side markers as being taller than '69s. Might be called "more squarish".
I could be wrong, and my familiarity is with Plymouths, so some Dodges may be different.
Also a dimmish memory of my '70-'71 Dusters' side markers being different dimensions than my '69 Bs.
If/when someone posts the '70 dimensions, it might correct or affirm my memory...

70 is bigger than 69, BTDT. I had grabbed a 70 marker while trying to find a replacement for my 69.

11 years ago I bought a kit from YearOne that converted my 69 side reflectors to 70 side marker lights, the kit included the wiring. I don’t know if Yearone’s kit used 70 side marker lights, but they fit.

interesting.
i think i'll try contacting year one, and see if they can tell me what the dimensions are.
might try layson's as well, as i have an order ready to place with them in a couple of days anyway. if the lenses will fit, or can be "shaved" a tad to fit, i will add them to the layson order.
if i find out, i will post the results. [unless someone beats me to it....]

Lenses AND housings for a 1970 are very different in size than 69s

How about 3d print some deeper housings? Just scan the original ones, then modify the file to fit what ever light you want?
