with the hand stamped vin tag. IMOP it's a parts car until a proper vin tag is made with the state DMV.
there have been multiple news articles about cars being impounded for this.

I’m sorry but you are missinformed about the vin tag. That is the way all of the early cars were stamped from the factory. At least my cars were. I don’t have them any more but my 65 Dodge lightweight was stamped WO as the first two digits. I could probably find and old picture in my archives to prove it.

My early Bs all had that style of tag stamping.

it could be. i never really looked at early 60's car vin tags on older Mopars.
i will say this. i have been working for car dealerships for over 50 years. i was a used car buyer for a multi location dealership who had to buy a minimum of 50 cars a MONTH for 3 years in the early 80's. i have NEVER EVER seen a VIN # tag that had 2 different style stamps on it EVER. the different styles are standard and inverted stamps. not only are there 2 different styles there are 2 different fronts of the letters to the stamps. AND not only are there different types of stamps, different fronts to the stamps. the centerline to the stamp letters are different also. i would LOVE TO SEE A PIC of another one like this. I HAVE seen early VIN tags that had the beginning number engraved on the tag and the final #'s were stamped with a reverse stamp.
this is significantly different than having a "WO" in front of the letters.
this almost exact same thing happened to a former co worker a couple of years ago when he bought a old 50's Ford truck and was reselling it to someone. in the early 50's SOME Ford trucks didn't have complete VIN #'s stamped on the tags. someone at a earlier time decided to add letters to complete the VIN # on the tag. thank god he had significant amount of paperwork and their was a clear paper trail on the truck to keep it from being impounded. he ended up having to get a state VIN # tag issued before he could sell it.
. in me experiences ANY alterations to a VIN # tag or the title automatically VOIDS it and it is now considered counterfeit goods according to the laws on the books.

i visited cars online and found multiple pics of earlier VIN tags that have different type of #'s. i was incorrect on this subject.
every one i looked at has the first 2 #'s ENGRAVED and NOT STAMPED. the #'s are also on the same basic centerline. the pics must be to big or are different type that aren't accepted on this site so i can't post them.

as i said earlier ANY ALTERATIONS to a VIN # tag automatically voids it according to the DMV and a LEO who feels like having some fun. anyone who thinks this is nitpicking and irrelevant read linked post about a 59 corvette that was impounded due to incorrect vin tag rivets that were on the car when he bought it.
on the tag on the car in question on this thread the first 2 #'s are definitely STANPED and on the wrong centerline. IMOP i was correct on that part.

Like I said, that's how they were done - I've had 3 Early Bs, none of their tags were tampered with, 2 different stamping operations that were not perfectly lined up.
VERY hard to remove, not the usual rivets, I just masked them carefully when I repainted 2 of the cars.

sooooo,,,,

It's a WIW for a 64 Bel I sedan/post 426 4bbl commando car.

Worn original condition?

Running? Driving?

With original or date correct 426?

4spd or Auto? Color combo? Options?

Fender tag? Buildsheet? Have you got the Chrysler Historical punch card for it yet?
