These traction bars are on a car I just purchased and was curious if anyone knew anything about them. Good? Bad?

never saw anything like that in over 60 + years of playing with cars, owning a junkyard, and reading almost every car magazine dating back to the original 1948 hot rod issues.
it almost looks like a simple, home fabricated item, but it could have been mass produced by someone and sold through a performance dealership or a speed shop chain.
this item also shows i learn something new every day if i pay attention. my only problem with that is, at my age, i have trouble retaining what i learn unless i really go over it countless times like one would be preparing for a test back in high school.......

Slapper bars have no place on a car that handles.

I have a pair I ran on my road runner back in the 80s. I remember when I installed them, I had a couple friends sit on the back of the car so I could get them bolted down. I don't remember if they helped or not.

All I remember around here were the Lakewood bars. Never saw any of those Ansens. Neat! up
