Do you have a welder there? You can also heat the race with that. OR can you cut a couple small grooves in it with a drem tool and small cutoff wheel and then whack it with a chisel as it will snap apart. Umm air compressor and die grinder with a small cutter?

i would support the spindle with something, then use a SHARP chisel and hit the race in 180* offsets. then 90* to the earlier 2 if needed. . the race should shatter and almost fall off after the first 2 impacts 80% of the time. i do this with rear 8 3/4 axles bearing retainers all of the time.

I didn't change the head when I went from propane to MAAP. Maybe I should have but the flame visually looks good so..........
Just throwing this out there, if it was me I'd weld two pieces of Redi-Rod to the race and use a steering wheel puller to pull it off. Just a thought.

I have an inner bearing race stuck tight on the spindle on my 69 Dart..I bought a yellow bottle of Mapp gas in an attempt to heat it enough so can pull it off with channel locks..I am not having much success and my grandson tells me there is a special head to use with Mapp gas instead of a propane head like I tried to use. Suggestions please? Thanks! Ted Ted if you have an Oriellys, Auto Zone, Advance Auto or many more you can borrow a puller. Yank that son of a gun off.

DO NOT USE A CHISEL ON A BEARING RACE! Unless you like very sharp shards of splintered metal shattering in your direction. This is shop safety 101. You can cut, heat, and use a flay chisel to budge the race down the stem once you've loosened it's grip. You're MAP gas isn't producing enough heat. I would try an inductive heat gun, if you have access or follow one of the other suggestions.

Use your welder to put down a bead around the outer part of the race. The heat will expand the race, and it will almost fall off. Works the same on inner races too, will shrink the race and fall out. THIS/\

Never had it shatter and spray metal at me, usually a couple hits with the chisel breaks it with no damage to the spindle...
