This is one of the most "if you were there" race recaps I have ever read.
It's a worthy read for its quality even if Le Mans is of little interest.
Somebody deserves a raise IMO.

See Lemans in person would be a bucket list trip for me

Doubt it would ever happen though

The best time for me to go would be decades ago, during the Porsche/Ferrari/Ford war era.
I'd have to take in the Mulsanne Straight, before the chicanes, for the full screaming experience.
So I need a time machine AND winning the Lottery laugh2

Seriously, if you've never watched McQueen's LeMans movie, it's my favorite racing movie of all.
The car-to-car, on-track, and in-car footage is amazing, and the 917s have the most glorious/threatening/harmonic howl of any sports car ever built.

I have spent many years at Sebring, including the Ulman straight, the longest straight on the track, and the cars are fast, very loud and likely highly dangerous if they get airborne.
My current favorite viewing location for past 10 years viewing reserved spot is turn 3, a good passing zone under braking, fairly slow, cars are not loud for 12 hrs, first real turn after the starting line/pits (cold tires), and also a location able to see clearly 4 other turns, and a big LED screen directly across from the turn.
