I was always told regular lead acids are toast if they get drained past 50%. Big bad "deep cycle" AGM's are a whopping 60%. There is no need to run that old crap when LiFeP04's are so cheap now and can be run to zero % every single time. I have been seeing the ads for the Bluetti portable energy source on TV for a short time now, looks interesting. I am still on the fence after I lost two cars and my garage to a LI battery meltdown, but it seems the LiFe batteries are much more stable. Not quite ready to make myself become another guinea pig to emerging technology yet, but I will keep an eye on them. I am in the market for another car battery, and they have gone pretty stupid in price...  Are any made in the USA?

I have had 3 AGM batteries die on me (2 Optimas and 1 YUSA) I tried using the NoCo Genius10 charger in repair mode to resurrect the dead batteries none would fully charge again.
Yesterday, I found a old lead acid battery my friend gave to me a few years ago it was dead 4volts. I hooked it up to the NoCo in repair mode and then just a normal charge overnight. Its fully charged now.
Do AGM batteries not being drained? Once they go below a certain voltage they are done no resurrection? I have multiple Optima AGMs and have gotten good life from them... I did have my yellow-top run down when I left the interior lites on, tried my expensive Sears smart charger in AGM mode but didn't bring it back... So I tried an Optima charger and it brought it rite back up many months ago. Can't comment about the NoCo Genius, I have no experience but can confirm the Optima charger does work on Optimas... Just my $0.02...

The best way I have found to charge and Optima is use a regular lead acid battery and hook it up to the charger then with a set of jumper cables to the Optima, always worked fine...

I'm going to try a Optima charger and if it doesn't work they will get it back. I liked my Yellow top used it for my Challenger and winch for my trailer. Can't comment much but.... But later batteries including Optimas' are sensitive to the re-charging process, using the Optima charger has a multi-step voltage charge cycle that worked for me.. Just my $0.02...

Every day charging and running is not an issue, I got 11 years out of my last red-top Optima.. Just my $0.02...
