Looking at this Ram with 80k Original miles local to me and was wondering if anyone has any info on these or known problems.
Figure i would check here first before i spend the money on a carfax report.
Going to try and look at this in the next few days as the owner does not have too much history on it from its past owners.

2008 Dodge Ram 1500 Hemi 4 wheel drive with only 80,000 original miles.
Clean truck has backup camera, bed rails, side steps, push bar, and new tires.
SUNBURST ORANGE PEARL COAT (PV6A)
There is some rust on bottom of door but can’t see it really. Heat and AC work good and no known issues. Asking $13,50 firm
Any info or help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I bought one it will be 3 years in Sept .. it had 128,000 miles on it , it had good care .. probably paid too much for it , right at end of the supply chain shortage

I've replaced the water pump , 1 front wheel bearing , and put brakes on it .. and the wiring had corroded on the actuator to go into 4x4 on transfer case , easy fix once figured out what the problem was .. took me about a month ! lol

I took OFF all the add on stuff , drive it to work daily .. I go down about 15 miles of gravel a day so, didn't want a new truck to ruin

Now it has 172,000 on it .. fairly painless truck to own so far

Good to hear as i think i need to find out if any recalls on the airbag has been done as that is unknow also.
I was kinda worried about the MDS if it had one as i heard of some problems with those and i think this one does but not sure.
Thanks for the reply

It has rust, that's what those wheel flares are covering. All Gen 3's have rust. The box especially on 3rd Gens rot out.

When I bought my '07 new, I was told that the front axle is a Blunder Motors unit: they have issues.

Rear axle pinion bearing is an issue, and some reports of "C" clips slipping out in the diff.

Exh manifolds/bolts crack due to excess heat and back pressure from the catalytic convertor.

The "A" pillar in them is gigantic and the hood is like a foot above the engine: it takes a lot of getting used to seeing out of them, especially crosswalks.

TIPM modules can give you grief. The "Hemi Tick" is a known issue, Google both: it's too much to get into here.

CANBUS computer and wiring take simple repairs away from the DIYer and force you to the dealer.

Otherwise, the 545rfe and 5.7 are a World of improvement over the Magnum/46RE transmission. If you drive carefully the fuel mileage is good, but like every Dodge, anything over 60mph and fuel economy goes out the window. The ride is too soft for my liking, but ideal for everyone else. The Sound Systems are top notch and the cab is quiet.

For the money, I would move up to a 4th Gen which is better in all categories.

I was going to say the same thing that around here those fender flares are to hide rust.
I've had no major problems with my 04.

Waaaay too much money with rust.

Don't get hung up on miles, the condition of the truck is far more important than a useless number lighting up on the dash.

Thanks and yes you are right as i found out that it was a Pa truck for the first 10 years and then the rest of its life in NC and even though it was used sparingly by putting an average of 5k miles year on it it stll has rust!
And what was or is hiding under those fender flairs has me wondering for sure.
Thanks again....
