I have some stuff that can't be reached, and want to tighten to right amount.
Looks like only option is a crow foot.
I saw post where they say there is a formula for this to correct. As internet says it will be off some percentage
And others say go 90 degrees not straight with crow foot.
I have name brand tools but not flare type crow feet. So do see how I can 90 degree.
Fyi 22foot pounds if in use it straight on would it come in under or over 22?

On a side note)
I used to worked with a guy who called the Talking Wrenches.
If you corrected him and said toqure. He said look if you don't listen to the wrench when it talks, the bolts go pop, pop.
It's talking to you telling you what happens if you don't stop

There is a conversion formula you can use if the crows foot is not at 90 degrees that will get you pretty close. Used to use it on the jets in tight quarters.

That's why I like Stahlwille torque wrenches, changeable heads, no math needed.

You just made my night posting this, that us an awesome set up. I work on equipment that requires the use of multiple bits like that, and all the fasteners are 12 point. Man thats so cool.

I was at a factory training/refresh a few months back, there was a good hour going over how to properly use a torque wrench, and there was a portion of that where we went over the 90 degree setup. In my application, you do have to set it up at 90.

My father was aircraft mechanic and worked the flight line.
I have lots of his tools, but all are SAE as he was long ago. I guess I gotta brake down and get into buying more metric stuff.
I have the Torque Adapters in SAE but need metric.

For that price I'd rather do the math.

I prefer buying quality tools, once.

When it comes to torque wrenches, and the jobs I use them on, I don't buy or use the cheap ones.

Do it the poor mans way. Tighten a nut/bolt(same size as the one you are torquing) with conventional tools to the set torque. Then get reading of the torque using the 90* set up to move the nut/bolt. grin
