Exactly! I originally joined this site, while I was at work in the early 2000's!
At the time I worked as a contractor for Chrysler. And a coworker mentions this site..
I checked it out and joined up... been here ever since. BUT not on here
very much anymore, not like I used to be. Maybe 2-3 times a week is about it anymore.

Not going to mention any names but some sites seem to do very well. A more general site like here doen`t seem to get the activity that others do or did here years back. This site seems to be more of a social site not as much for Q&A.
Maybe some dedicated to a particular body, e.g. forbbodiesonly etc. But I cannot think of another general Mopar site that comes close to this one.

Thanks much for the laugh! Dang, that was a classic move and thread! Right up there with some of the stoopid Mopar moves I've pulled myself!

I come here about once every week or two. I don't post, just read. I spend most of my time on Facebook. Still like this site.

I usually do a drive-by about once a day. Usually don’t post unless something catches my interest. Some of the old members stop by but they like me loiter a bit then move on.

Definitely a decline. Many reasons, some of which already have been mentioned. For me, the costs of restoring and working on the old mopars is making it not fun. Parts getting harder and harder to find, reproductions parts not fitting as well, etc. I also moved to a job position that requires a tremendous amount of travel. So less time to spend here. And I am wrenching less as I bought a modern car (sorry not mopar). So I spend time on another forum. I still enjoy the knowledge shared here and I offer up what I can. I will always come around. I like this forum the best as compared to the other mopar sites.

Old participant, had to get a new log on to comment

I gave up when the crap with the Doc guy would not go away let alone the problems with the ads etc. I cashed out of all cars and parts 10 yrs ago seeing the writing on the wall and it has been a big relief. Just a lurker now as i have nothing to contribute other than an opinion.

As far a proper tech info...well that too has taken a big hit and people have too many old school concepts they can't seem to let go of and they keep preaching them like it's a religion rather than embracing new technology, experience and information.

We are down to one mopar magazine so perhaps instead of complaining about its content perhaps one should buy a subscription to MCG. As for evilbook and you tube they are part of the problem not ever the solution.

Exactly, most of the topics here are the "same o same o" items hashed over and over, I find the facebook Mopar groups more active, up to date and engaging as well as diverse, along with the facebook Mopar groups dedicated to your particular interests so you don't have to weed through the drivel if so inclined

I'm here maybe once a day now, sometimes every other. I'm probably on the younger side of the membership here, but I never regularly posted anyhow. I've had two project cars (still have one) and fewer than ten track runs under my belt. My depth of knowledge is as shallow as a bird bath in this hobby compared to many of the posters here. Always been more of a lurker for that reason. I've benefited greatly from the knowledge here though. Despite a few that enjoyed giving you [censored] the overall helpfulness from a number of members here has been outstanding. This is still a great place to be.

That is just poor manners, like no response when holding a door open for a stranger, I don't get it, and I wasn't raised that way.

It sure is. Not the first time it's been brought up.

Spend half an hour thinking through how to best describe something to help someone, Folks go out to the garage to take photos of parts or car setups, upload stuff, or, you do research and provide links that have the solution to support what you are typing.......and like you said 6PakBee, not even a simple "thanks".

In plain sight, is the unseen damage when a Google search brings someone here, they see this nonsense, or Buffoon replies of "have you checked the air in the tires lately?" for a leaking heater core and press "skip" on the "Join moparts" application.

It's a long-missed opportunity, this site should have 400,000 users by now.

Facebook posts should get linked to this site, not the other way around.

There are a number of members here who display that "Grumpy old man" persona quit well with replies meant to be confrontational. But the Face Book Groups? My god talk about ignorance is bliss! Zero trouble shooting just replace parts.......with the CHEAPEST parts found on Amazon. FYI- Amazon is littered with non-working defective by design CHEAP parts . Then when a member tells them how to trouble shoot it is ignored- and the replies of "My PCV valve grommet was the wrong color and it caused the problems you describe" pile up with others joining in with their tales of repair. Hell one group - the members were arguing that the FAST class of cars were NOT stealthily modified but truly 100% stock and running in the 9s and 10s. But the Grumpy Geezers here on Moparts who feel the need to attack or lob verbal bombs from the sideline need to drink an Ensure and take a nap.

Keep old mopars alive.

It's the evenings that I'm usually free and come here. I usually don't come everyday anymore because if I did that I'd spend more time checking each part of the forum for posts I'm interested in then actually reading them and replying.

Forum use in general is down everywhere but I still prefer forums over Facebook and other sources.

Once, someone asked for information on factory fuel system parts.

I provided a typed-in chart right from Chrysler on several part numbers, one referred to regularly by my coworkers, with the requested information.

Someone else posted another chart derived from internet folklore and partially true supplier based data.
The internet folklore satisfied the OP's confirmation bias and the folklore poster was thanked profusely.

So that was a pretty bad experience.

On the other hand, I couldn't find a certain piece of hardware recently and two great people here sent some to me free of charge...
So, that was an amazingly good experience.

Seems the good experiences have far outweighed the bad, but there are a fewer number of experiences and conversations as a whole....
I can't tell much a difference in different times of day since I'm not consistent when I show up, but I am sure those who observed things
changing are probably right.

Sorry I am laughing, I can relate, often.
It's never been disproven, people believe mostly what they want to believe.
Wish someone would prove this claim wrong.
