I'm restoring the headlight bezels for my 69 Dart GT and have a question. My bezels are the originals and I am confident they've never been repainted as the car was all original when I bought it from the original owner. The two small ribbed areas outside of the headlight openings are all black in the middle where the ribs are. Only the perimeter of these areas is natural color. I have a pair or repro bezels that the ribs are natural (polished) as well as the perimeter so in trying to find out which way (or possibly both ways) is correct. I've been looking online at pics of other cars and see that on some, they appear to be painted black the same as mine but on others, the ribs themselves are also natural. Does anyone know how they are actually supposed to be? Did it depend on the model of Dart as to whether the ribs were painted or not? The first pic is my original, the second the repro.
