After thinking about my intake manifold choices I have decided to take off the Weiand Xcellerator and put the original 1969 340 intake back on my engine. I more than likely will use Fel-Pro since that's available locally. A part number would be great and any tips to ease installation would be appreciated! I presume that I will have to find dowel pins and a choke tunnel cover? Thanks!! Ted wave

Fel-Pro # MS90109 is what I used on my current 340 with J heads.
For the china walls, I prefer a healthy bead of silicone, no pins or gaskets.
That method seals better & lasts.

i agree on the china wall sealing.
those pins, at times, can cause the intake to sit high, thus resulting in vacuum leaks.

Permatex "right stuff" for the china walls 100%

The Supergaskets (Moparts sponsor I believe) work really well to

Thanks guys! I used Greg's gaskets in my Dominator carb when I was racing. Pretty good gaskets. So I don't have to use any factory dowel pins for installation?

Why don't I have luck sealing China walls the Chevy way like posters in this thread above suggests?
Using the included Cork gaskets always seems to do a better job for me with RTV ONLY in the corners

FelPro Printoseal 1213S-3

or

Mr.Gasket UltraSeal 5840

Both worked great, never used anything between the ports, just the front and rear strips between the block and intake.

Possibly cleanliness. I was taught many years ago about adhesives and cleanliness. Cost me 10.00 for that bet / lesson in 1977 🤑🤑. Clean clean clean. Wipe down with acetone or equivalent and clean paper towel that must stay clean after the wipe down. Follow up with another towel and alcohol on all surfaces you're using the sealant on. Wait a minimum of 24 hours before starting the motor or putting the item to use beer

I have always used these when i can find them at a decent price. I like using the foam end seals better than cork or sealer.
