Depends on where and through what you are plumbing it into the engine or filter housing. Bigger is better.. That said, most -10 hose is a little bigger than .500" ID and should be fine. It's what I use.
And you can get more than 1 1/2 qts in them if you set it up right.

Are you routing the pressure line to the block side of the oil feed? If not, I would and do, not through the filter Its an oil filter sandwich adapter. Mine is plumb with -10 to a sandwich adapter. I checked mine to see how much it held. At 65 psi it has about 2.25 quarts of oil in it when dumped . More psi more oil. That is a neat setup with the Killer Ron's, how do you like it?

My plan is -10 line to/from the accumulator....Is that big enough on a 3qtr accumulator on a 600ci engine? I mean it only holds 1.5 quarts when used, but I could go -12?
-10 to remote filter and accumulator for the last 15 years. No issues

Ok, so now where do I mount this damn thing, its big....I could make a bracket off the drivers side of the engine plate, but man it would be tight. anyone bolt it to the outside frame rail and pop it up thru the inner fender?

I have Accusump plumbed with -12 and it is a 3 qt. Also. I have tested it as well and yes about 2-1/4 quarts is what it holds. I also use itxas a primer before I fire it up. I have mine mounted with custom tubular brackets off the core support behind my front bumper.

Mine is under the radiator. We tapped a hole in the block inline with the main oil passage and plumbed the acculumlator there. No sire a -10 or -12 is necessary but to each there own. I mean how big is the fitting threads you are installing these in

I love accumulators, another advantage of them is they act as pulsation dampeners keeping the flow more steady in the system, great for guys like me who is running a non-bushed block with a fairly high lift solid roller.
As for the Check valve, I'm of the opinion that unless the pump drive shaft actually snaps the oil is always going to flow the path of least resistance. (I.E. through the bearings and to the pan)
With the non bushed block I only see about 45-50 psi peak (it was about 65-70 with a flat tappet solid) but I do have a 9 quart system (Milodon dragster pan and billet star rotor pump) and I only run 5W-30...making sure as much oil as I have can still get to that last #1 rod bearing. I run the 3/4 groove bearings that still look fresh after 10+ years of 7K runs.
The accumulator is just a nice added insurance. Mine is just that little Vertical mount (Charged Headspace) which probably only holds 3/4 of a quart (~1/2 the volume of the vessel) If your pressure starts to drop, the Rate of drop (in psi per second) will be roughly half....meaning essentially you have twice the time to react/ shut it off. That's all I wanted.

I used that check valve when I had the accumulator on my dragster for a filter that didn't have an anti drainback valve to stop it from back flushing the filter. It seems to charge the oiling system better with it.
