Houston, we have a problem.

The bearing/hub assembly on the right final drive is damaged and will need to be replaced. I saw it before we started working on it, but I was hoping it wasn't a major ordeal to repair/replace. Now that I've done a bit of research, it looks to be a fairly involved and expensive project.

More to follow, but I think I know why it was free!!!

Yeah, I try to pass on deals if I don't have the space or bandwidth, but this one was too hard to pass up.

Thanks

I wasn't referring to the movie. But the way things are going, the HOA is probably going to be the least of your worries.

the biggest dozer of any worth i have experience with is the JD 450 we used back in my junkyard ownership days.
it was bought cheap, although i can't remember why, and it was a learning experience for my partner and i to get it running and working again.
and of course we buried it over the tracks in a mud pit doing stupid stuff.............. laugh2
took us 3 weeks or so to get it out, using several of our other yard vehicles, including an oliver cleetrack baby dozer wannabe and our '46 international winch truck. [which also got buried several times and had to be dug out to continue the original JD dig out]
beer

Sounds like an epic adventure! I almost bought a JD 450 a month or two ago but the owner wanted too much for it.

the "adventure" tales that could be told about the junkyard could fill a book !
two guys having fun while running a business, the business location, and some of the hauls [why haul a load unless it's a BIG load........ biggrin] would make a great goofball comedy........... laugh2
