Back in late October/early November I started my fresh 470 for the first time (out of the car) and ran it for the break-in period plus 3 or 4 additional runs of maybe 5 to 10 minutes each. I haven't run it since then as it took a while to get it installed in the car due to numerous unexpected delays. I now have it in the car and just about ready to fire up again and was wondering if it would be o.k. to just do so or do you think I should go through the process of priming it again due to how much time has passed?

I'm religiously a primer myself.

You can do it either way. Priming is something that has only become popular in the last few decades. Any other time it wouldn't have even entered your mind. If you don't give it any gas the oil pressure will come up cranking. If you like to prime, prime it. I haven't started my Challenger in 6 months. (It doesn't have provisions for priming, maybe I should walk over there and crank it up.) The other day a guy wanted me to start up a Road Runner that hadn't been started in 28 years. No prime. That is wrong in every possible way. I won't do it again regardless of what the owner wants. I couldn't believe it when it started right up. Don't ever do that. It's totally wrong.

If sitting for years I would prime it again. Months, no.
