And what’s wrong with a bypass???

Had a quad in September as a result of just a routine checkup. In the grand scale of things … no big deal. 4 days in the hospital and about eight weeks recovery. In your current condition you’d be an idiot to turn it down.

At least lay off the Big Mac’s !!

As a "veteran" of three heart attacks, numerous heart catheter labs, and one open heart surgery....
I know all too well, how scary it all can be. With that, I'm glad to hear you are doing better.
My last catheter lab visit was just back in late February, because I had recurring chest pains too. My cardiologist
found no new blockages this time luckily, but he did start me on a certain version of nitro. It's a
slow release pill that lasts throughout the day, called Ranolazine. I take it once in the am, once at night, along with daily aspirin/plavix.
Haven't had any issues since he started me on this. You may want to ask your Dr. about it...to see what she thinks.
Oh yeah, eat/drink as HEALTHY as possible...lots of Omega 3 rich foods ( think salmon/mackerel etc.)...drink a lot of water too.
Too much sugar, salt, red meat, booze, carbohydrates ...are your mortal enemies... I wish you all the best!

Had an appointment with the cardiologist yesterday. She went over the details of the intervention that took place. I was 95% blocked in the two main arteries that feeds blood to the heart. The LAD (widow maker) was treated first given this is the major blood supply to the heart. I received two stents. I had to wait until the next day for the second artery to be addressed. That artery received 3 stents. She said the plac in both arteries were mushy and didn’t appear to be near calcifying. Calcification means the arteries are hardening from the plac which puts me near having bypass means bypass. In my case bypass is not an option at this time.

I should note that I had another artery that was blocked 20-50 percent which at this time will be treated with drugs. As of now I’m scheduled for further test that will address the arteries in the legs and arms. Also, the heart appears to be undamaged.

Great news. BTW, I have the same genetic arterial condition, 2 stents and 1 bypass in both legs . I still have trouble walking up hills and a lower back siisue. Both have been there since a hip replacement 20 years ago

How did the meeting with the hospital director go? I ask as after the triple bypass went sideways 4 weeks later they sent me to an extended care facility. Initially i was still under Propofol and Fentanyl. Once I was taken off I had had some issues with treatment by the Nairobi night shift personnel. I made them aware and got a lip service (but no BJ) from the director who was a nice lady . I could have pursued things legally and might have but my brain was quite scrambled. In addition they did get me off the drugs and ventilator
