moparx "Butt Crack Bob" Joined: Sep 2003 Posts: 19,529 north of coder	good question i don't have the answer to. however, i have seen the 741 and 742 pinions with both spline counts, so i guess the 489 pinion could have both. i'm guessing year of [original] manufacturing may be the reason for the spline count used in the original gear set ? hopefully, someone with more knowledge than i possess will chime in and have the correct answer.
