burks340 OP member B Joined: Jul 2007 Posts: 194 alabama, usa	my friend has a 727 non lock up tranny .it will not shift into 3 gear . could he have a lock up converter in it causing this problem?

No , the lockup convertor is splined different so it wouldn't even go on the trans. Is reverse working ? Is his TV linkage adjusted correctly ? Does it even have TV linkage ? burks340 OP member B Joined: Jul 2007 Posts: 194 alabama, usa	yes he has reverse .he sez that even if the kd linkage isnt adjusted correctly it should still shift into high gear sometime.he sez its a mopar converter and he has installed it in 2 different trannies and neither will shift into high gear .i will post part # on converter soon.

If it does the same thing with two different transmissions, suspect the TP linkage. Try temporarily disconnecting the linkage to see if it will then shift to 3rd.
