I know this has been discussed many times. Why couldn't you use Bed Liner on a garage floor?? like the Herculiner stuff?? would it last any longer than the epoxy floor stuff you can buy over the counter?

Depending on Garage use but flammable and soft are two quick thoughts. I also question the durability with a lot more traffic than a PU bed or interior.

It would be hard to clean.

Turning the front wheels on it may possibly tear it loose from the floor. Anywhere there is a hard vertical edge it would be subject to lifting/chipping. The start/stop line at the garage door opening for example..

Don't know a thing about using bedliner for a coating on garage floors, but do know about using RaceDeck flooring. While it's not as expensive as epoxy or polyurea coating, what I have found is that RaceDeck can be tough to keep clean especially around the cracks/joints. Particularly in an older home/garage such as I have, as moisture can still manage to seep in at the cracks. Using RaceDeck makes me wish I had gone with a coating instead, but I'm sure they too would have issues, once again, especially where you might have a moisture issue with the original concrete floor.

The epoxy over the counter kits generally don't work, there are ton's of YouTube videos, etc., explaining why.

How many of those videos, etc., are from professional epoxy floor companies? Probably quite a bit but when you watch a video for a kit compared to a video from a company, the difference in prep work is huge.

Having said that, a local building supply store had their floor epoxy coated and within a year, a large area lifted and has been patched, etc., but looks like crap. There's a story there that I'm not aware of.

Personally, do your research and make sure you're satisfied with what you decide on. Redoing a garage floor would be pretty painful.

I don't think bedliner is an inexpensive proposition! Look at what the coverage is and do your own comparison. A number of years ago I saw a shop that had been done with it. It was quite a rough surface - glossy but rough. I my opinion I want smooth for easy cleanup.

I have done four of my own shops with the DIY epoxy kits. My only complaint is the tire marks. They call it "hot tire" but it seems ANY rubber wheels - hot or not - will leave marks.

When I built my current shop 22 years ago I just used a commercial grade concrete sealer - applied within a day of the fresh concrete. It's not cosmetically appealing but I've never had a dust issue. Its easy to clean but does get tire marks and lacquer thinner disolves it. But its lasted 22 years !!

or just be like me, a real crappy floor poured by the guy i bought this place from, and don't worry about it.
i don't care about my lawn either, just that it is green. weeds, dandelion's, crab grass, and other things growing there don't bother me because i don't play or watch the game of goof, er, i mean, golf..........
i will say though, the spots that sweep up good on the garage floor are the real bad oil stains..............

I just have clear sealed concrete... Thompsons water seal, which reminds me its time to re apply.

I thought about sealing my garage floor once. That thought came and has passed years ago. These days, I just don't care, and it doesn't seem to bother either my car nor my truck. (If it does, neither has said anything. ).
