for 49.500 $ on fb

From the ad:
GTX 426 Hemi 4sp. Real hemi four-speed car. One of just 99 ever built. Engine and transmission are not numbers matching, but were manufactured in 1968. Has original build sheet. Engine runs very good, no smoking or knocking. Engine appears to have been rebuilt with low miles. Car runs and drives. Will need complete restoration. Major rust in the trunk, rear frame rails, etc. Se

Rare car that should be saved. that car needs just about everything and parts for those are expensive and hard to find, 69 GTX's put back factory nice is not easy. 49,500 ? not so sure on that

Guess you never bought a Hemi with a transmission and Dana.

Dont understand how that relates to what I said, I went through the process of restoring one of these so one would think I know what I am talking about, I am well aware of the cost of a hemi drivetrain, about 30k in this case. the rest of the car is junk but worth saving, when you are done you will have 100k in it easy if its done right.

I will say, I have never seen wood being used to hold up a trunk floor. Thats a first for me.

The wood and what looks like a rattle-can cap for a gas cap are....interesting.
At least someone cleaned the thing up a bit, instead of the usual covered-in-whatever trailer shot.
Doesn't look like a rebuilt engine to me, but maybe they just left the outer patina ?
In any case, it appears to be a mostly complete Hemi 4-speed car, non-#s, popular colors, that needs a major restoration.
Depending on many factors, that's likely $100K to $200K depending on who does the work.
It doesn't pencil out without #s if a buyer wants to be in it @ market, but we've seen some rough cars sell for large $$ in spite of that scenario, right ?

Worth Saving , ? Absolutely.

Will it be a profitable investment? Not a chance

This is one of those cars for a body man who wants a hemi car of his own and can do all the work on it himself in his spare time.. And that aint me

I’d heavily discount the rebuilt claim on that engine. If it ran well I could see 40k, weld in a new ass end, and drive. It has all the outside trim, so that’s a plus. The backglass would be a concern for me as that might be all trashed. Had to get water in there somehow. Just from what is shown I’m guessing the quarters haven’t been changed, so maybe a drippy storage area? No storage?

Rebuilt or not. The drivetrain ( as long as the dana is still in it ) is worth $40 k by itself

IMO the car is worth his asking or damn close to it.

If I was a body man, I could get real interested in the car.

I figured some body would step up. Too much risk at that price for me.
