Bought a trunk seal years ago and threw it in the parts bin. Pulled it out to install it on the '62 Plymouth and they sent me the seal for a '62-'74 A, B, E Body.

Can't figure out how to install this on the '62 B Body. If I install it like my '71 Demon the seal isn't thick enough for the trunk lid to contact it.

Anyone have pics of how they installed their trunk seal on a '62 B Body??

I can't help with the install on a 62 but I just tried to install one on a 65 and it was a no go...

It didn't fit worth a crap and didn't want to make the turns at the corners no matter how much glue was used...

Once I had it where it would almost stay in place we tried to close the trunk...

It was way to thick and wouldn't allow the trunk to close without binding at the dutchmans panel...

I tore it all off and cleaned the glue off...

I'm not putting anything back on till I find something that would be a better fit...

The ā€œVā€ should be facing out. The thin part faces in. The truck seal I bought I believe was from around 2013/2014.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the information and the pictures.

I tried to test fit mine and I think it would work for the top and sides of the trunk opening but the bottom corners and bottom doesn't look like it's thick enough to seal (trunk lines up well with good gaps). I'll go out and look at it again.

You can put that joint wherever you want it on those early cars is what I'm remembering now, I'm thinking I put them in the middle of the lower curve going to the bottom side of the trunk taillight panel on the drivers sidescope up
