I currently listen to two different Christian music station, K LOVE and one local Cristain station here in Bend. up
I use to listen to the rock and roll and oldies but goodies stations. I stop listening to them due to hearing the same songs and music over and over shruggy work
I like the noise on when I'm in the shop, I do listen to talk radio a lot also up
One of the first songs I can remember listening to and enjoying the message was by Tennessee Ernie Ford, it was call 16 tons, I can also remember when elvis Presley was just starting his carreer along with Pat Boone, Jerry Lee lewis and a bunch of other rock and rollers as well as some country and western and Jazz up scope grin

you are certainly correct about the oldies stations playing the same tunes over and over, seemingly on an endless loop, Cab.
here, there is a "music choice" channel lineup i get with Xfinity.
lots of different music choices to choose from, and it seems they go out of the way to having a playlist that is not repetitive, and includes a good variety of obscure artists and "one hit wonders". up
still, in this thread, i have been exposed to artists i have never heard of, or have forgotten about.
please keep it up guys ! bow

Steve McQueen had one of the first A.C. Shelby Cobra in the U.S. in the spring of 1963, this was long before anyone had head of the car and he wasn't that well known back then as a hot rodder , racer. A friend of mine had built fenderless T bucket type roadster pickup, it had 1957 Ols J2 motor with tri power in it, home made header and the 3 speed stick tranny that came with the car the motor came out of. He had install a Olds rear end it also but I never heard him say what ratio is was, probably in the mid 3 as it did cruise at a decent RPM on the highways keeping up with the traffic in SO CA back then.
We were in his roadster on the Saturday morning before easter Suday 1963 when we ran into Steve McQueen in his Cobra in Palm Springs on the south end of Indian Avenue, My friend, the driver, had saw it in his rear view mirror and ask me what it was I thought it was a Alfa Romero 3000S realcrazy He ended up smoking us really badly in a short 100 yard sprint from a slow roll blush shruggy whiney
Back then the car hangout was at the west end of town at a Sambo restaurant so we drove up there and then learn about him and his "British" fast sport car bow.
Most of the locals had Corvettes, one 1963 Max Wedge Fury and maybe several 409 Impala, a 406 1963 Mercury full size fastback car and others I can't remember now shruggy
I would bet a large amount of money that Cobra had a 260 C.I. Ford Hi Po motor in it built specially for Carol Shelby by Ford work up
It was very quick bow whiney

Thanks for reminding me of Lyle Lovett. Met him again a few years ago helping with the John Penton Movie and knew him when he worked at a motorcycle shop in Texas when I was dirt bike racing. This was used in a trailer for the JP Movie.

The early movie trailer for "kickstarter" with "Which way does that old pony run" and Lyle at the end, COOL person.
