It even comes with the tools to fix the sized motor.... grin whistling

At the asking price and hopefully the rust isn't to bad, it a good deal.

I'm baffled by the thought of a seized /6. I know they'll stop if they get hot, but let them cool off and they'll usually restart. My in-laws killed one in a Volare after they didn't change or check the oil for 18 months or so, but the only reason it wouldn't start was #6 rod escaped and broke the starter off of the bellhousing...

Looks like a great buy at that price.

I am betting it ran out of oil or water........or both!

Used to be my weekly driver between grand island and York, engine seized on the freeway and I coasted off an exit and got it towed home. work

That’s a decent truck body. Slanty sixes are cheap enough that you could swap one in a weekend with time left over for a trip four beer. Seen many a windowed towers of power that had windowed blocks and still ran without any issues. Leave it stock or make a rod out of it. That’s probably the deal of the month.

Back when we ran a LOT of Demolition Derbys, it wasn't uncommon to see most any MOPAR, but especially a /6, lose a radiator and get hot enough to quit running, then sit for a couple hours to cool off and drive on the trailer to go home.

I must be the only guy who has had nothing but problems with slantys. I've owned several, the oldest being a '68 and the newest being an '84. The '84 is the one that annoyed me the most as it was my Mother's vehicle. An '84 RAM PU, beautiful truck, ran decent but it would blow out freeze plugs if you tried to drive an extended distance at freeway speeds. Cracked block? Cracked head? Never could figure it out. We couldn't afford to buy a (reman) engine, so we sold it off. The buyer lived about 75 miles away but insisted on driving it. Yup, it left him stranded. Supposedly it blew out a freeze plug on the drivers side with enough force that it dented the inner fender. Last I heard (this was a LONG time ago) buyer replaced the engine only to have the trans and rear end fail. He sold it off after owning it less than a year.

shruggy
