Anyone have some experience / knowledge about the Post Office loosing a medium size box with insurance on it.
This is going on since 12/15/23 and then they told me to file a claim because I had insurance.
The claim came back denied and I have now filed a appeals claim, waiting for the response.
I sent in pictures or the parts and the invoice
Anything else I can do to get the package or my money?
Thanks Bob

Are you the shipper or was this package being shipped to you? Edit: Sounds like you are the shipper as I went back and see you have insurance on it.

Did USPS create the label with the bar code or QR code or was it your own ship to address label?

I ship 30,000 packages a year. Have seen it all now.

RARELY will you get any compensation. I does happen but rarely. They all self insure so like the medaical insurance companies, it's best to deny a claim.

I had cat whiskers damaged by UPS. They want a phone book of info. 15 pictures in a specific sequence; all side, both ends, close up of damage, part laying beside box, etc. All sounds legit. They want a picture of the box manufacturers label and specs. They they want to see an invoice of what I actually paid for the item. Not my retail price. After all that, they denied. EFFERS!!!!!!!

The mail has gotten better, They used to lose ONE PERCENT. Thats 300 per year!!!!!!!!!!!! Now they only lose about 0.1%

What of there criteria did they say you did not meet?

I know they are sneaky to be clear you have all the docs they ask for. If I recall some of the smaller things many just dont do or keep. I did have a grille damaged and they paid out $650 for it.

Dang they make it hard.... looks like a small section of the IRS.

I am the shipper and created a shipping label from my account. Have them scan it in when shipped at the Post Office.
It moved to the Distribution center and then said arriving late, moving in system. No more scans and is lost.

Why get insurance if they are not going to pay when they lose the package.
I sent pictures and the invoice. What they ask for.
Thanks

What reason did they give you for denying the claim?

Need a receipt or Visa bill or Paypal receipt
I sent them a vendor receipt for all the parts

Had them loose a package I was sent. It was only $20 or so that I paid but something worth more. I never bothered following up yet figuring it'll just be some b.s. excuse.

iagree No matter what, they'll deny it. I got some head gaskets and they folded the box so it'd fit in my mailbox. flame

Don't recall. Think they have you fill out all the paperwork to "feel good". It so not worth the effort. I figure my time is worth about $400/hr (nope, thats not what I "make". Thats to cover TAXES, overhead, payroll, TAXES, equipment, repairs, TAXES, new roof, TAXES, advertising, etc) They know that too.
