What color is the block....Ultra Black or Ultra Gray usually here, on the occasion its an orange or blue block its clear.

Ultra Grey is a stiffer cure and oil resistant, just not as much as black. Black for anything that holds oil, or dissimilar metals - example Aluminum to steel . Grey is good for intakes, water pumps, or similar metals Aluminum to aluminum. OH, the New Optimum is now easier to remove.

Permatex Ultra Grey. Never a leak on any of my engines in 30 years or so. Intakes, motor plates water pumps, rear main seals....... I put that **** on everything......

Right Stuff Black. Never had any leaks, But tough to get apart sometimes. Me too, it’s all I use on intakes. I slip a knife blade through the bead to make it much easier to get off,
