Too bad about the bumper and bumper filler and quarter. Nice car otherwise...except for the wheels. puke

the pumper is probably getting ready to fall off.
those cars had aluminum backing supports behind steel bumpers, bolted to steel bumper brackets.
this introduced the public to bi metallic corrosion. 2 dis similar metals bolted together with no protection between the 2. corrosion between the 2 caused them to fall off the car.
it was a common sight back in the days to see these cars driving around with no rear bumpers. especially in the rust belt.

i love the Used Cars movie.

i have been around car dealerships my entire life. IMO this movie is based on real life events.
i have been around every thing that happened in this movie. not exactly like in the movie but close.
even hiding a car dealership owners body after he died.
Joe Carini owner of a Lincoln Mercury dealership and health club franchise passed away. he had a sudden illness, his next in line whisked him away and he passed away in hiding. they buried him in a grave in another name. over the next year the next in live skimmed every $$ he could, sold off everything and went into hiding. it took 3 or 4 years to sort everything out.. in the end he still had millions and nothing happened to him.
