are all w2 head 48degree
how fast are these heads heavily ported etc.

W2 heads come 48 and 59 degree and are a great head. Can be made to flow 320-330 cfm give or take a little with a 2.08 valve. Nice 600-650 horsepower head. Maybe more

As Pittsburgh said, can go easy 9s at 3250ish. They are good.

These heads continued to evolve until the late 90's or early 2000's IIRC These are a really good head and probably less popular because they are iron. I'll add that a good rocker system may also be a deterrent but that's the price of admission with ANY racing head.

Ran a set on a 368" R1 in the car in my avatar - but they were the Batten aluminum version.
Low 10s footbrake @ 3000-ish lbs, with an 850 Holley that was basically a restrictor plate.
Intakes flowed 322 CFM, exhausts 248. 2.05 intake valve
Indy bought Batten out years ago & has their version with different valve seat/guide architecture.

W2’s were produced for quite a few years, and there are a few “generations” of them.

At least one generation is fairly known to be crack prone on the exterior of the head by the outer head bolt holes.
The subsequent generation had vertical “ribs” added to the castings in that area, to specifically address that problem.

And I was blessed enough to have this crack prone head. Knowing that I ported them to slightly over 300 cfm with the stock 3/8 stem 2.02. valves. They leaked shortly after and cracked after running a best of 9.82 on BP93 pump gas. After that I sold off two sets of econo rockers and a W2 Victor intake I ported.

The ones I think are the more crack-prone generation have “Mopar” and “W2” cast into the exterior of the head near the outer row of head bolts, but don’t have the vertical reinforcement ribs by the bolt holes.

I have been running them for over 25 years on a few different small blocks.. currently on my 410 c. i. motor ( 360 Magnum block , 40 over, 4 inch stroker crank , 9 1/2 to 1 compression , 585 / 595 lift mech. cam) made 545 hp 520 tq on pump gas..... the heads are pretty stock as made no real porting and I have ran the same old ductile iron ( non roller ) rocker set up for all those years with never a problem. I built a 408 with Indy 360-1 heads and personally I like the W2s better

They were predominently a 59* head, first introduced in the late 70's. early 80's. The 810 castings are from that era.

The 48* degree version was a later iteration, easily identitfied by the push rod holes partially breaking through into the gasket face.

I had a set of NOS 810 heads that took me a while to sell. I wasn't even asking a bunch of money for them, just trying to sell them. They were purchased new from a local dealer in the late 70's and then sat on a shelf for 40 years. Still had the original box and paperwork. I didn't have any use for them.

Couple reasons for that. That is an earlier version that was 'crack-proned' which made it risky to afford the costs to commission. In other pics it shows the ribs as described by Duane. The latest ones even had a useable valvejob!
