'Stellantis appears to be in serious trouble. CDJR brands just can’t seem to sell cars like they used to. This isn’t a new problem, either. Stellantis has led the list of slowest-selling cars for months on end.

In February, Stellantis brands dominate the list for the sixth month in a row. This month, the Dodge Hornet (480 days of supply) and Dodge Charger (477 days of supply) beat the others by a long shot. The Ford Mustang Mach-E climbed to third place, with nearly one year of supply.

Six of the 10 slowest selling cars are Stellantis models. All Stellantis models, not just the ones mentioned here, are highly negotiable right now. However, some CDJR dealers are notorious for resisting negotiation, despite the massive oversupply

Not sure why this is surprising? I've been saying it for years! If you think Hemi powered everything will keep a company alive....think again! Not everyone wants a Hemi powered RWD vehicle and not everyone wants a Jeep or Ram! I hate Toyota but if you want to figure out how to build/sell vehicles that is the company to watch! They are making billions selling Camrys yet Stellantis has NOTHING to compete with them

Killing the Charger & Challenger and performance models doesn't appear to be a good direction, it seems.

And if they rush the new platform, that risks quality issues, which could result in a bad rep they can't come back from.
Like, say, Fiat...

They planned a funeral for Mopar once before and guess what it didn't die.

Not looking good. They have a loser CEO that thought raising prices 50% was a good thing, then he fired everyone for poor sales. Board is reportedly looking for a new CEO. The one guy he didnt fire was Tim Kuniskis, its likely he may replace him. Europeans have no business running Dodge or Jeep (Sergio Marchionne (FCA) was Italian but grew up in Toronto and lived years in Windsor). Company morale in the toilet, said to be DaimlerChrysler 2.0. Even the head of the Demon 170 has quit

A company builds an image as a company that builds performance cars and then takes away the performance on the newest models and now they wonder why sales suffer. Sad and comical at the same time.

truth.

It's better to keep your mouth shut and give the impression that you're stupid than to open it and remove all doubt.

Offer longer warrantees
and a modest cost option of “Lifetime Powertrain Warranty “

I still hear local ads from a dealership that emphasizes their 40+ year old self financed “lifetime warranty” if you travel to their small town.

All automakers should already be in “Survivor Mode”.

The “Still-Ain’t-USA” owners are foreign and naturally going to favor foreign managers.

They have said for years that they do concentrate on the financial philosophy of a USA citizen - Warren Buffet.

Notable new Buffet strategy is to buy up Occidental stock because female engineer head has a strategy of collecting CO2 and sending it underground to “push” crude oil toward fracked hole to boost production.

Did you read the article? The Challenger and Charger are on the list, each with more than a year's worth of inventory sitting.

As for their business, Stellantis is sitting on $50 billion in cash. I think I'll take their business acumen over anyone who's posted here.

I was at the local CDJR dealer just yesterday talking to the parts manager. I mentioned the $22 bolt I had bought from them just a few days before and he said that parts sales had slowed significantly, too. Stellantis had raised parts prices and had tanked his sales.

They Charger was selling decently but you can only sell the same car with minor or no changes for so long. They don't have much else car wise people want.
They got rid of the Caravan which is understandable if it no longer meets safety standards and like the Charger was long over due too, But then wonder why the new ones don't sell when they are in a whole different price range.

Don't know what's up with the Chrysler brand. They weren't pushing the 300 overly hard, they only have one vehicle now. If someone doesn't like Dodge they're going somewhere else. They should at least get back to making Chrysler counter parts.

It sounds like the Charger replacement is coming out as a coupe first when sedans are where the sales are really at. But when it comes to the new Charger it seems to all be speculation and guess work still with a lot of the articles about it.

All the north american makes are pretty much relying on trucks and sporty cars. They need to make some cheap fuel efficient cars that a lot of people actually want to buy.

The parts prices are another issue. The prices being jacked up so muhc or becoming NS1 so fast. At least in a lot of cases especially for the truck and Charger stuff there's a lot of aftermarket support.
I had to replace my Charger driveshaft when it was 5 years old and at the time it was still decently priced from Mopar. Now they're not but the aftermarket ones are OK. They have constantly had problems with the hanger center bearing also yet after 2015 stock anyway it's suddenly not replacable separately. Again aftermarket stepped in. There are als oconstant quality issues that they won;t resolve.

I don't see anything drastic happening with Chrysler but they really need to get their act together.

Ford reports it lost $4.7 billion on its 2023 EV sales.
Ford expects to further lose $5.5 billion on EV in this fiscal year.

40% of capital investments for 2024 will continue in money losing EVs,
but CEO Jim Farley promises to only introduce “profitable evs” from now on. (?)

Profit on Ford “Pro” products like SuperDuty saved the day at $7.2 billion last year.

Compared to Ford

I'm sure Lee would gladly come back and take on that job, as he's been dead for 3 years.
