since there have been a few posts about over priced parts i will add one.
i recently repaired a 2016 Jeep compass sport.
i replaced the left fender and front bumper assembly with the left fog light and bezel.
the fender, bumper and fog light were reasonable. the bezel has the highest priced paint job i have ever seen,
part # 68303487aa . this is a bezel with METALLIC GRAY paint on it from the factory.
list price $457.00.
.price is circled in orange in the pic of the estimate.
the chrome bezel one and the black one are $30 each.

Yeah, I'm starting to see crazy prices on some odd parts. The crazy part prices cause insurance prices to go up which is bad for everyone.

the worse part about it is the part has a SMALL scuff on it that would have easily buffed off.
i would hate to toss it but it wouldn't be worth my time to try to sell with the other ones selling for $30.
oh well it the trash it will probably go..

even worse yet. the name plate on the door is the same color. that is only $80.

Something that ridiculous, I'd suspect a mis-print somewhere.
And I'd think about labor & materials for repair & refinishing instead of buying & charging for that part, and discussing with the car's owner and insurer.

Fixing a '14 Patriot today. Needed the PATRIOT letters for a door. $97. My cost. shock

Now it doesn't say PATRIOT on either side. Young guys call that 'sanitized'.

Bought a cam bolt for the rear suspension the other day for one like it: $22 my cost. No nut, just the bolt.

Master, again and still
