sample quote

... Tesla was not even at the charging station – or even connected to power – yet somehow, an electrical fire or explosion happened.
He has been left wondering how Tesla will compensate him, and exactly how big of a safety problem this may be.

"I think we're also very scared," said Amjad.

Anyone would be afraid to step outside and find the dashboard of their car in flames.

"You could smell the smoke. You see everything," Amjad said, "and you're like man, I think it really was a fire or an explosion."

Amjad's Model X Tesla now has a charred dashboard after it caught fire while sitting in his driveway in Oak Brook.

"It was sitting idle in my driveway, and I just cannot figure out how it happened," said Amjad, "and I think that's what's really, really scary is that we can't figure out how it happened."

I don't care much for Tesla's but this seems like a random event.
Every car company has a lemon get out now and then.

The battery fires are another story though.

Teslas are super problematic and usually finish last on the reliability ratings.

2023 they were way down toward bottom again with 242 problems per 100 vehicles

Facts are stubborn things.

Wow

I had no idea they were that bad. Lots of them running around town here. I just thought with that many they couldn't be that bad.

I learned something. wow

Outside evening campfires are relaxing in a deeply primitive way.

Sudden, rapidly spreading fires,
especially underground,
test one’s ability to resist terror and plan responses.

Complicated electronics are a pain to troubleshoot.
Today’s stuff so bad “unplug and replace” almost mandatory.

EV’s combining rapid hot fires and complicated electronics spell a future of trouble.

There’s a song:
“The Future’s so Bright I have to Wear Shades”
but my gut tells me different.
