Not really enough details to give any kind of meaningful response.

I totally agree, It is crazy,.but it depends on the size, brand, and type of tire.

I have had to buy tires that were over $250 each so right there is $1100 after mounting & balancing.

Add brakes ???

Top it off with some shops replace rotors as part of the job and say we can't turn new rotors. I say it's a money grab but many people just say yes & thank you.

It is stupid expensive to own a nice or many new cars today.

I have students tell me it is cheaper to uber to school 3 days a week than pay for car note, gas, insurance and maintenance/repairs. I can't argue with that.

Sad how stupid expensive it gets.

Take a clear picture of your invoice and post it.

Also, and I'm not trying to be a [censored] saying this but, if you think $1,595.00 for tires/brakes is outrageous, buying a new Challenger or Charger probably isn't a good move.

Does anyone still turn rotors? Seems like the preferred technique is to toss rotors and replace them with cheap Chinese crap. I've got a pick up with over 300,000 miles on it. I've never worn the pads out, I end up replacing the rotors (and pads) when the brake shimmy from highway speed gets too sporty.

I’ll probably pay over $1200 for tires on my 2015 SRT Challenger (33,000 miles now)

Have a 2013 VW beetle with 300,000 miles on it and we have hardly spent much more than that on it. (not including tires.)

10 years ago South Oak Dodge hit my ex with a bill for $600 for replacing shoes and drums on her 2010 Caliber. Labor alone was $300.

She took it in because one shoe squeaked against the backing plate when you put the brakes on. When she got it back it still squeaked.

I just replaced the tires on my wife's Lexus LS 460. Michelin 235/50r18 - price was almost $1200, without mounting and balancing, plus disposal fees and taxes..... argue Oh yeah, they also wanted to charge me for new valve stems and $12:50 for TPS removal and reinstall per tire..... realmad

3 years ago I had over $1,000 in just replacement parts for the brake system on a 96 Dakota. That was pretty much every part, but no labor, and no tires and all the hoopla that is attached to those.

When I replaced the tires, I bought them on sale (235 75 R 15), buy 3, get one free. Then add the mounting, balancing, taxes, and the disposal fee for the old tires and the bill was still over $600, and those were nothing special tires in a common size. I'm thinking that just maybe, sitting the comfy chair waiting in the shop waiting room for someone to tell me my brakes and new tires have been installed and the bill is $1600, might not be too bad. I invested a lot of effort and spent more money to put brakes and tires on my truck.

Well, Thufferin' Thuccotash - b-b-but boy, ah say, ah say boy...

Tires @ $150-200 each, for 4 and a full set of brakes, $1600 wouldn't really surprise me.
But for just one axle's worth, that seems spendy to me.
And last Summer my Dually got 6 tires and my car trailer got 4.

Yeah I think some of the labor amounts are ridiculous. On my Cummins the fuel filter change was almost $400. Shop fees, epa fee and of course tax.. I was out of town and my wife got the service. Parts were $129. I've done this ever since. It takes my 30 minutes (I move slow) and the parts are $96. I use wix filters vs the Mopar ones. Just can't believe they charge that much such a simple job. Just glad I'm able to do most of the work on it.

Ok

You can cut some rotors, depending the type&condition.I see alot of rotors so rusty they can not be cut. Most gm rotors chatter when you try to cut them.

Just price out a set of tires for your current classic mopar. $225 for 255/60's. Was looking at 205/60's for the front of the barracuda and heck those are 175 each. That is $800 just for the tires. Sad,I put 275/60's on the Cyclone rear and think they ran me $135 each but yeah, that was 7 years ago.
