I consider this battery limitation a definite problem, but you can always extend the range by driving an EV had a slower speed.
In an ICE vehicle peak MPG occurs in the 40 to 50 mph interval because of gearing and engine size.
But an EV can creep along at very low speeds without an efficiency limitation. So, what you are saying is to just tell your boss you will be starting an hour later everyday just because your mode of transportation is a pathetic Singer Sewing machine. Got it.
Never, ever argue with an IDIOT. They will drag you to their level and then beat you with their years of experience

If a person is trying to get maximum range then driving an EV at 25 or 30 miles an hour seems to work the best. You want to keep moving but you don't want to pile up the aero drag. The difference between driving 55 and driving 75 is significant in an EV. You can watch the battery level drop when you get up in the 75 to 80 mph range. My Leaf will buzz along just fine at 85 mph on the freeway but the battery level drops quickly.

"BEVs and FCEVs [fuel cell vehicles] come as a set with infrastructure," Toyoda said in a statement translated from Japanese. "However, one billion people around the world live in areas without electricity. In the case of Toyota, we also supply vehicles to these regions, so a single BEV option cannot provide transportation for everyone."
The chairman claimed that since the introduction of hybrid cars in its domestic market, Japan has reduced its CO2 emissions by 23%. Emphasizing the belief of "freedom of movement," he had a very stark prediction about the future of electric vehicles.

Newest version of Nissan Leaf with much bigger battery reviewed. Reviewer says only 60% range at 75 mph in cold temperatures. Also says Leaf controls much easier to quickly adjust to. https://www.arcamax.com/business/businessnews/s-3094350?fs
