Ok, I'll put in my . I really think the proportions have to look right. Having a truck dropped right to the ground, makes the cab look too tall. With a long bed, it makes it look worse. It goes the other way as well. Having a Ramcharger with a 12" lift looks too tall with its short wheel base - looks like it'll summersault on a hard braking situation. I like TooMany62s truck, just the right amount of drop, cab doesn't look out of proportion, and I like his wheels too!
Just my opinion, and I don't want to offend anyone who's truck is outside my preference.

I had a lowered 91 back in 2003/2005 era. It was not done correctly and I was always looking for new posts by Cheeto to update up on the best ways to lower the trucks, before they had any aftermarket support.

Cheeto had a killer truck with little alien heads or something similar incorporated into the flamed pinstripes.

Well..... with a Wal Mart socket set, no it ain't! I shouldn't have assumed that the vast majority of folks that would attempt it would know that you need to move the spring perches in to the proper width after you take the center pin out of the leaf springs and flip it over to be on the top of the springs instead of the bottom. There's a lot of wiggle room in the rear wheel well area of the D series trucks and C or E body 8 3/4's fit great.

Best way to lower one of those trucks? DON'T!!!!!

well..on my 88-440/727/8 3/4 d-100 swb truck I used a rear shackle flip... then flopped axle on top of springs... tubed the bed...bolted in a A-body 8 3/4...added a set of 15x12 - 4.5 BS rims & M/T 29x15x15 SR radials...then used a 11" stock front coil spring with a 235/75/15 on a 7" rim 4.5 BS so the swaybar clears a parking stop by a 1/4"

IMHO this gives the best handling, stance, traction for a street truck.

hey TM62 hit me up I have a few old wire harness for trucks.

FYI..A body 8 3/4 bolts in on the truck 43" centers & tucks a 12" rim with 29x15x15 M/T bed tubbed flush o frame rails 1.5 stock tubs
my 85 step side runs a 67 C-body 8 3/4 relocated perches tucks a 10x15 4.5bs rim 275/60/15 tire real nice...mine is tubbed but do think it fits without tub work.
mid 90 jeep/mopar 8 1/4 axle have 43" perch centers and are real close to A-body measurements & add gear choices. I just scored a jeep 8 1/4 with 3.73 gears and one with a 4.10 gear
