Not a four-speed, but still should bring I'm thinking...$450k RNM.

The nicely optioned orange auto at Mecum went for 350-360.

The car was an original column shift automatic EV2 orange car with orange seats and not much else. Column shifter was moved to the floor and the Billboards, louvers, Dictaphone, spoilers, road lamps, etc. were all added. So, all things considered, 400K with fees was actually pretty good money for that car.

The red 4 speed car that sold for 660K with fees had a numbers engine but a blank 4 speed (so no solid tie to the car), it had no broadcast sheet, and no original tags are known to exist, the new fender tags (I know who made them) have been on it for many years, so not a single thing to verify ANY of it's original options. That was huge money for a car like that.

so did the red one have -known to the public- original fender tags?
And the new tags where done more recently to make it more attractive to potential buyers?
In that case I hope the original tags stay with the car

Color is a matter of personal preference. For me, purple/white or orange/white is the top of the heap. If a guy wants a hemicuda, I see no reason to look beyond the one in the OP. That's as beautiful as a car can be to me. The same guy has a 71 Hemi Challenger in the auction that I think I bought years ago for $500. I'm going to go to visit it and enjoy the Scottsdale weather. If I thought I would ever drive it I think I would buy it. But I never drove my Superbird or 65 Dodge when I got them done so maybe I'm aging out. Kinda sad.

Oh, I thought you mean the Hemi Cuda from the first post.

Wow- I am far, far from an tag expert but the red Cuda tag has what appears to be a glaring error on it.

Wow people aren’t demanding better at those price points? Course this is a world where mark worman openly has a hemi road runner for sale and plainly states he’s ordered a “replacement fender tag.”

Yep... I asked a youngster, one whos supposed to carry the mopar torch into the future why his first project on his own is a RE BODY.

He said.... ya ever watch graveyard cars? repop tags, AMD all were mentioned.

Its putting a strain on my interaction with the youngster as I can not convince him its not the way to go.
