Replaced the driver's door on my 70 with a 71 door, in the process of putting the car back together, the glass and window guides went back in fine. I am having an issue with the rear window guide holding the glass out about 3/16 farther than the front (at the door where the cat whiskers go). It appears the rear guide is holding the window out. Does anyone know if the rear guide on a 71 door is different? I should have kept the guides from the 71 door but i didn't. Not having much luck finding other posts about this particular issue. The only visual differences i can find is the 70 door has oval holes for the anti rattle and the 71 door has slots like the bottom, the rest of the door looks like the 70 including the cat whisker holes. I cant find a way to adjust the glass to get it tighter to the door in the up position.

According to the Hollander Interchange, the '70 door does not interchange with the later models.

The problem with Hollander's is that unless it's pretty much a no mod swap they don't list it as interchangeable.

So, if a hammer and torch make it fit, it's an interchange?
Hollander states that the glass is the reason there's no interchange.

So, if a hammer and torch make it fit, it's an interchange?
If it can be made to fit with a bit of effort, then yes. Since that is what the OP is asking. Hollander states that the glass is the reason there's no interchange.
You think that would have been helpful? Especially since that is exactly what the OP was up against? Typical.

I did some measuring tonight and the drivers door from the mounting point of the guide to the inner structure of the door is 5/8 difference from the passenger door. I believe this door is a 71 by the milar sticker that was on it, just cant remember if it was early or late build. i'm seeing lots of different info, some say the 70 is alone and some say the 70 and 71 are the same and the later ones are different but only the glass is different. They make repop guides just not sure which ones i need. I can not find any in and out adjustment for the glass at the bottom when it is rolled all the way up, the bottom adjustment moves the top in and out but the bottom is fixed.

Thanks for the help. I may not have the guide in the track all the way thanks to Alan at autolan. the pic shows the anti rattle mounting for the 70 which is oval. the new door has all the 70 shapes at the glass with slotted holes. both pics attached

I owned BH23C0E100327 and it most certainly did NOT have impact beams in the doors. I took the doors off and apart, no beams. My BS23N0E108362 DOES have beams. Interesting. How many days difference on the build dates? 8000 cudas made in between them. I wonder if it happened along with the hood crime zone additions?

Obviously that was a Very early car. Weight difference tween the doors was huge.
