My neighbor makes moonshine. I think it tastes horrible but him and his buddies like it. They have a small still in his barn and make about one gallon per batch. They are gentleman moonshiners so they use high quality ingredients. Have a full stainless steel setup. Looks like a chemistry lab. A friend of mine has on and off tried to get me to help him recreate his families' Moonshine recipe. He figures my attention to detail would help produce some good quality drinkin' stuff. I'm not a drinking man, but I am intrigued. The recipe is made with corn, honey and brown sugar. His father says we're also going to need some barrels because it's got to age in wood and the 'still has to be ALL-Copper. Sounds like Good quality stuff, but what do I know? I find it fascinating to no end and the really funny part is.... it's not illegal to make in small batches in Canada. As long as I don't plan to distribute it.

There is definitely something to that copper thing. Kevin

my brother tried making 'shine back when he was in high school. i would rather drink gasoline ! I made some rum in HS, don't know the proof, but it was high enough to burn. It was also nasty. More of a can I do it thing than anything else.
