Haha. Somebody found the tapes to an old Muzak system. That's awesome.
I wish we still had.... y'know.... stores.

I was sad to see the Kmart stores fail and sit empty.

After a few years a select few old Kmarts became “Rural King” stores.

A Rural King is unique,
but kinda like a three times bigger Tractor Supply. but with noticeable empty floor space.

How could Rural King improve?

Take 100’ by 100’ of their space
and add a machine shop for farm machinery type metalworking tasks.

Yes, call me crazy......

Worked at a grocery store as a stocker in high school. They had a tape that played piped-in music. Contemporary (80's) pop stuff with lyrics--not just instrumentals. Unfortunately the tape was only 60 minutes long so it would repeat every hour. After about 3 months of that the store manager about had a mutiny on his hands and finally broke down bought some more different and longer tapes.

Even today when a song comes on the radio that was on that 1-hour loop I cringe...

Ditto.

I remember as a small kid, maybe eight or ten years old, going to a place here in town called "The Cobbler's Bench". They would re-sole shoes! They did other stuff too, but real craftsmen. That store is long gone.

Can you imagine having something like that today??! It's sad.

Was searching for something and Kmart popped up, WTH?
Thought they were closed years ago, apparently there are 2 stores still open.
