No breather stacks, drivers side has no clips top is basically flat except toward the rear theres a raised pad where the PCV grommet goes, Pass side has two plug wire clips both on the intake side one about 1/3rd of the way back, the other near the rear edge, also three wire harness clips spread evenly down the intake side & two raised areas on the top surface the front one is for the oil fill location, the rear is for a large grommet that the breather pushes into...

here is a pic. the top cover in the pic (drivers) is not a HP one as it has the two plug wire tabs for a non hp car. knock them off and you have a HP cover.

in my reseach this is a 70 cover but if i am wrong somebody please correct me.

Those covers look right to me. To be honest, I'm still not clear on the whole tab issue, but the covers themselves match mine.

Thats a 70 C body cover, like you said knock those two tabs off & your go to go...

BTW Don't acually knock them off, grind through them very carefully, it's easy to destroy the covers...

HI there. ok. One of my valve covers matches the top valve cover in the pic. So i grind off the tabs and im in buissness. But my other valce cover doesnt match the one in the pic on the bottom. The one in the pic only has the pvc hole and smooth on the other and. Mine has a raised round area at the other end but no hole stamped in it. Liek the factory raised the area but didnt stamp a hole. But it does have the pvc hole at the other end. So what doesthat mean? one of mine is incorrect? ?>ron

Sounds like you have the wrong pass side one. does it look like the top one in Chris'pic of a '71. '70's are a one year only unit.

gtx6970-the set you have listed as 70's I'm thinking are 71's-as they have the 3 nipple breather for 71-and they look just like 2 sets of 71's I just redid-one set I still am finishing the tabs on-I have a set of 70's (I thought)but was later told they were C body-Joe

His covers are definately 70 but off a California car...Look at your cover that has a PCV grommet, it also has a second raised pad...Typical of a 71 not present on a 70...

If you remove the two tabs on the upper valve cover it would be the same as a B&E cover..
