How has anyone's recent dealing been?
When Don Sr was around...he was at Carlisle and the Nationals and was very good at supplying what he promised, although i think he just did head pipes.
(BTW...they fit really well)
After his passing, Don Jr has taken over and while he still vends at Carlisle and the Nationals, his customer service is terrible.

Anyone have the key on how to get him to respond and deliver ordered (and paid for) product?

So my experience is also pretty dated, but I have experience with both. Don Sr did a full 2 1/2 inch exhaust for me for my 67 Coronet and it was quite good. After he passed Don Jr did a 2 1/4 in set for me and it wasn't as nice. But no issue with delivery or communication - I think I picked them up at the Nats. Pretty sure Don Jr was at the Nats this year but can't swear by it.
