FYI ...The one in the article is only 541 cubes...Wonder why the sheet metal intake then. I would suspect it was an owner request. No real reason to run one otherwise

Did you see the intake bolt pattern? That is not standard...Ports are too big for standard location bolts.

Wouldn't be the first time a car mag got stuff wrong but the caption under the picture of the heads The heads are CNC-machined Stage V aluminum castings from Ray Barton Racing Engines. maybe Barton relocates the intake bolts?

You could order Stage V heads with the 5 bolt intake setup. That is for making the ports larger and not running out of intake gasket. Since he was buying a sheet metal intake anyway it just makes things easier. Sometimes they make the intake or heads for O-rings. I like that.

Aint rocket science nor that difficult. This 536" Hemi made 936 on ump gas that was in my truck. It was sold CHEAP too. It appears to me that engine has been hopped up.

If it had Milleniums on it, I'd expect it to make well north of 1k hp. Mine makes decent power (somewhere over 800 hp) and is a lot milder than that one. Mine still has the standard intake bolt pattern, nothing special CNC ported MP aluminum heads, a cast single 4500 intake, and a pretty mild solid roller. 9.54 at 140.4 mph at 3800 lbs. on motor only and pump gas.

Al, those are SS heads....As they are known now. They still retain one 1/4 bolt per port, but the second one has been deleted as per the allowed rules I guess. Can't image what it cost to build one of those custom monsters. I went to the Stage V website and they state the Millenium heads can be 16-bolt, 6-bolt or 10 bolt......Only other heads offered that way are Indy 426-H1-HiPo heads or Big valve stock replacement heads as they are known, but those do not flow enough to hit those numbers. http://www.stagev.com/pages/m2000head.html

I had my 426 Hi-Po heads flowed right out of the box. Intake 443 corrected@.700 Exhaust 255 corrected@.700 Intake port is 265cc's I asked my friend with the flow bench why he didn't go to .800 and he said The bench was maxed out. They easily flow enough air to get there.
