I need a 45 degree male to female fitting on my high pressure steering hose line.
Both the pump and hose connection on there now are steel.
I see mainly aluminum AN adapters, but did see 1 steel one made by Fragola.
Which would be best for this application?

Thx

If you're working with stock stuff its worth noting that those fitting are NOT "AN"

It's all aftermarket, Holley to locally made hose.
Was thinking steel to match what's there, but maybe Aluminum would seal better?

Never had an issue with any AN fitting sealing up properly, steel or aluminum, as long as there was no nick, burr or other defect on the sealing surfaces. Of course I gave up on AN's back in the early 90's. I found no need for the added expense.

I'd use steel for that application

Me too, in a high-pressure application.

Steel might not be an option, everything seems to be Aluminum.
I see that same Fragola part listed multiple places as Aluminum (same PN as listed on Amazon)
So I'm thinking the ad is wrong, last review was from 2017.

The only part that even listed a spec had 1500 PSI, which is probably right where it is.

What about 3/8" JIC adapter? Apparently these are interchangeable and available in steel?
I looked at my receipt from when I had the hose made, it says 3/8" JIC.

I'd bet none of these Ebay or Amazon parts are really AN.

Wikipedia

JIC (Joint Industry Council) fittings are widely used in fuel delivery and fluid power applications, especially where high pressure (up to 10,000 pounds per square inch (690 bar)) is involved. The SAE J514 standard replaces the MS16142 US military specification, although some tooling is still listed under MS16142. JIC fittings are dimensionally identical to AN (Army-Navy) fittings, but are produced to less exacting tolerances and are generally less costly.
