Is there anybody on here that sells a drag race steering column kit that will fit an A body? Stock gear box.

There was a steering column that I saw a while ago that I was interested in. I thought that I saved the info but I cannot seem to locate it. I think it was called twisted metal, or something like that. It was a direct bolt in that had the removable steering wheel option. It was very reasonably priced and looked like nice quality. If I can rack my brain and think of it or locate it I will post. the info.

Hey Hunted Duck,

I was correct. The company is Twisted Metal Sports. They do not appear to have a website but they are on Facebook. It appears that they also build front suspensions. The last interaction that I had with them was in Feb of this year via Facebook Messenger.

I have no real-world experience with them, I have not purchased their product but it may be something that you would like to look into.

There are a lot of drag race steering columns available. I looked at a few when I was building my Duster but eventually I decided to keep the stock column since I needed an ignition key and turn signals. It was easier to keep the stock column that it would've been to fabricate turn signals and a new wiring harness for the ignition switch. If it is a dedicated drag car then you don't need a column unless the rules require it. I've seen a number of cars that have the steering shaft supported in a rod bearing.

Jimmy Allred is who makes the Twisted Metals column. I’ve had one in my car for many years. Nice little kit for a reasonable price. Comes long but is easily shortened if need be.
