So I’m needing rocker arm assembles and probably shafts as the heads I’m ordering for a big block won’t come with them. Looking around, looks like there are over twenty brands and styles for sale on big block engines. Std, roller, adjustable, steel, ductile iron an aluminum material, just to name the basics. I’m looking at one engine to be just a fun street 440 not sure what to get. Would stamped steel rockers work, or should I upgraded? Any brand or company offering nice ones out there? Also, engine power is going to be resto with maybe 100-150hp over stock.

440 Source has started selling the old ductile iron rockers. Price seems to be very reasonable.

The valvetrain is the last place to cheap out , it will cost thousands more to fix the carnage below a dropped valve than the few dollars you save buying cheap chinese junk.
running up my post count some more .

Still working out the specs. Like to have a a little chop to it but have to decide i I'm running a brake booster or manual brakes for my vacuum needs. Not a fan of some Chinese stuff either, but not looking to save too much and compromise the drivetrain.

Stamped steel work for a stocker with less than .509 hydraulic cams. If you gotta buy shafts, hold downs, and hardware, these are a great deal by Mancini Racing. Made by Harland Sharp. Here's the link. Item #: MRE57001-15-714K If running a hyd f t.. I am running a Comp Cams XE295H cam with 519/.524 lift with stock stamp rockers in one of my 440's and drive it everywhere during nice weather with over 55,000+ on the engine so far.

A - Comp XE295HL has .564 Lift
The XE275HL has .525 Lift - I have been running that cam in my 383 Stroker for about six summers now with E Street Heads and Sealed Power Stamped Steel Rockers and shafts (Made in the USA)
Does anyone make a decent stamped steel rocker anymore ? They where scarce four or five years ago already , and the Elgins that I had in my hands where complete junk
