Just put a RMVB trans in the GF's 69 GTX. Id really like to keep the console and original shifter (stock look) Has anybody modified one to work like a slap stik but for a RMVB?

Slap stick not really, put I modified my stock A body shifter to work with my RMVB. The way it now works is the shifter can be moved backward from neutral, through 1st, into 2nd without pushing on the button. I ground down the original Drive to 2nd step on the shifter. So now I launch in first and just smack the shifter back. It hits the original 2nd to manual 1st step and stops. When I want to shift 2nd to third. I push the button and pull it back into third. There is NOTHING stopping you from bumping/hitting the shifter forward into a lower gear or neutral. So be careful.

Don’t waste your money. I bought one for my 69 Bee and it sucked. Ended up putting a Hurst ratchet shifter in. Was all that hard to do. Just had to modified the counsel a little.
