I know that in 1972-4, the springs were molded inside of the foam seat buns on the E-bodies - I think the bucket seats only & not the back seat (please correct me if I'm wrong). So, are the buns removable from the frame of the seat, or was the foam bun integrated with the bottom & rear part of the seat assembly?

On my '72 Cuda, the original owner was a heavy smoker & the car has 198,000 miles, & the car was from Arizona, so the foam is completely shot - both buckets. Can these seats be "rebuilt", or do I need another pair of buckets?

No first hand information but with a little google-foo:

https://www.profitautointeriors.com...r--1972-Barracuda/10055071/BUN72KEU.html
https://www.musclecarparts.cc/shop/item.aspx/1972-1974-e-body-front-bucket-seat-foam/10025/

oddly Legendary lists foam buns for 73-74 and when checking fitment on 72's their website says does not fit.

I was thinking that it was 73-74 that had the integrated foam. Also, in 73-74 the seat back is part of the seat cover. No separate plastic seat back panel like 70-72.

Early 72 e-bodies will have the plastic back. Mid-year they switched to the complete vinyl covered back like the 73 and 74. Exactly where the change occurred, don't know...
