I'm following this as well. I'm running Comp retrofit lifters in my big block and while I could stand the noise at first, now it's just grating. To the point I'd be willing to drop $1k on new lifters to shut it up if that is an option. A friend had this problem in his 440 Dart. He asked what I was using and ended up buy a set of Howards hydraulic rollers. Replaced the Comp's and everything was fine. Comp's are hot garbage!

Pump gas, n/a, through the mufflers on street tires with 3.54's. 3,600 lbs.
10.01 @ 133mph with a 250 shot of nitrous an a splash of race gas. 1.36 60 ft. 3,700 lbs.

Close to 9,000 miles on my Howards with hundreds of dragstrip passes.
No issues at all and quiet as can be. Can you post the item number of the Howards? It's been 8 years and I don't recall the number nor do I have it written down. Sorry, I'm usually good about remembering numbers but not this time. LOL

We have had issues with all of the different brands. Luckily, we have enough inventory of most that if we get a bad lifter. We swap it from another set and then when we accumulate an entire set of 16 bad lifters. I then return that full defective set.
